SMC’s EtherPower™ PCI network cards connect Pentium and 486 computers containing a Peripheral Component Interface(PCI) bus to an Ethernet twisted-pair, thin coax or thick coax network. Serving as a high-speed interface between the CPU and the network card, the PCI bus eliminates bottlenecks by bypassing the traditional I/O bus and providing a wider data path and a faster data transfer rate.
