Product Description:
The Intel® 537EPU chipset is a host-based V.92 modem solution. The 537EPU chipset utilizes the host PC's CPU to perform the signal processing algorithms and functions that are traditionally done by dedicated DSP and controller hardware. This reduces the number of components and the board space required. The 537EPU chipset is optimized for Intel Pentium® processor-based PCs using the Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP).
In compliance with the ITU V.92 specification, the 537EPU chipset provides the Quick Connect (QC), Modem-On-Hold (MOH), and upstream 48 Kbps features and offers interoperability with Internet service providers around the world. Data compression (V.44/V.42bis/MNP5) and error correction (V.42/MNP 2-4) modes maximize data throughput and integrity of the data transfer. Effective data receive rates are up to 56K (actually 53.333 Kbps as the maximum data rule allowed by the FCC).
The 537EPU chipset meets Microsoft PC 2001 specifications and is TAPI compliant. It supports the industry standard AT commands for data and Class 1 fax.
